Presudent's Day

I hope this finds everyone recovering from a lovely President's Day. We had a nice one. Beth had to work, but I was "off". The kids came with me to my office in the morning (even though I was "off"), and then we went to lunch at CiCi's Pizza. We spent the afternoon just hanging out together. We played in the woods, bounced on the trampoline, swung in the hammock, shot some hoops, just your basic hang out day. I needed that, I'll tell you what. I've been working 2 jobs since Jan 1, and it has been an adjustment. The extra income will really accelerate our get out of debt mission, but it is hard at times. So, I really enjoyed an easy day. My next scheduled vacation is not until Sept (Yellowstone here we come!) but I an already counting the days. I think that is a bad sign. Oh, well, keep the goal in sight...financial freedom, no more bondage to debtors!

Rockin on Thursday

Tonight we are going to see Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, and Chris Tomlin at the fabulous Ford Center in Oklahoma City. This will be the kids first "real" concert. My first real concert was at Mohawk park in Tulsa to see Huey Lewis & the News, with Stevie Ray Vaughn as the opening act. The smell of reefer was strong in the air that day. Anyway, we are sure that the kids first experiance at a big venue concert will be quite different. Don't get me wrong, Huey was awesome that day, but the atmosphere was not my style. I got a really cool purple HL&tNews t-shirt that I wore out over the next few years, so we'll probably spring for some sort of tour item.

We had a really nice weekend. The Bixby Roths came over on Saturday and watched the kids basketball games. We had some lunch and then they came to the UCO games with me. One of the guys that played for Roger at Broken Arrow H.S. now plays for us here at UCO. They picked a good game to come to because Sam went off for 30 points. After the games we went to dinner and then they headed home.
On Sunday we went to Pauls Valley to visit our friends the Blacks. They are doing well, and Cornerstone church is thriving.
