Reunion

We are back from our annual reunion, and it was a great time. Our families gathered in the piney woods of east Texas for a weekend fun fun and family.
You know, you see on TV and in the movies, that is is normal for family gatherings to be torture, and for people to argue, and there are discussions about painful memories, and how we all hated out parents, our lives suck because they screwed us up. Evidently we are supposed to be jeolous of our siblings success, petty, spiteful, angry. Well, I'm here to tell you, I'm proud of my brothers. They are 3 great men! One is a teacher and coach, one is a health inspector and coaches high school basketball, and one is a successful attorney. Naturally, everyone would think that the attorney would be the most successful. But I say they are all succesful, and I'm proud of all of them. Cousins, sisters in law, brothers, aunts and uncles..all got along swimmingly, and dare I say lovingly. We played games, and swam, and fished (w/ little success) and talked and sang...all without any of the negative stuff the world says we are supposed to have.
So, to my family I say thank you for a great weekend together and see you next year. To everyone who says being with family has to torture, I say respectfully, that you are very wrong, and furthermore, I feel sorry for you.

Summertime sumsumsummertime

It is summertime here on the plains. We just got back from visiting family in Texas, and we brought a couple of cousins back with us. Chance and Reagan love having Sterling and Carly here. The kids will do some work around the house for me, and that way they can make some $$ for their other summer activities. Texas was fun, we really just hung out...which we really like doing. No amusement parks, or big activities, just hangin with my family. It was great. On the way home, we drove right into a good old fashion great plains spring storm. So, out Texas cousins got to see their first big Oklahoma wall cloud and tornado warning. No twisters this time though, just high winds and horizontal rain.

Last week Chance spent the week in Tulsa at my mom's house. He went to basketball camp during the day, and did some chores for Mimi in the evenings. He seemed to have alot of fun at camp, and learned some hoops too.

Have a great day today!
