Good Times

It is the last day of August already. I've been so busy at work that this month has flown by. This week has been really nice though. It started Saturday when we got to spend some time with some old friends that we haven't seen in years. We've corresponded thru the internet and snail mail, but it was just really nice to sit around and talk with each other. It was a real blessing for me at least. I was sick all day Sunday, so I spent most of the day in bed, which was nice-even though I felt bad, it was kind of a relaxing day. Work this week has been pretty laid back, which is a nice change of pace. Volleyball season officially started last night, it was a good match to start out with - a blowout, so there wasn't alot of pressure on us refs. Chance's Tuesday night bible study also started back up last night, and that went well.
We are still praying about where God would have us serve. A small church here in Edmond has really put on the full court press wanting us to come there and me lead worship and Beth teach the kids. I really like the pastor and his vision, but really that is the only person who we have anything in common with. Do we really want to essentially start a church? I don't know if I want to be "the man" again. This past Sunday is the perfect example, I had total freedom to stay in bed, but if we decide to be apart of this church, and be "leaders" in this church, will I still feel that freedom? I guess just pray for us in this area.

Crazy Fuel Prices

WOW! In the two weeks that I've had my motorcycle, the price of gas has gone thru the roof! I've ridden my bike to work every day since I got it (10 working days)and spent $28. I figured it up, and filling up the car for that amount of time would have cost me over $75 (with the truck costing about $120). I'm feeling pretty smart right about now. It has been raining today, so I drove the car, but other than bad weather days, I will be a motorcycle commuter for at least a couple more months.
We are all home for a few weeks- camps are over, and school has started. I am so proud of Chance and Reagan - they are awesome kids! It is such a blessing to be around them. They do their chores, without being reminded to do them, they do their school-work, again without being prodded. They both love pizza, which dad appreciates, because he can justify getting pizza more often. Chance is turning into a very mature pre-teen. We have great discussions about stuff (a wide range of topics from Jedi to Jesus). Reagan continues to have that very cute little girl thing going on, but every once in awhile I see what a great woman shee will be one day.
I won't even get started talking about Beth - there isn't enough time to spend writing how great she is. Suffice it to say that I would be lost without her. Lost, and sad, and lonely, and pathetic. Not that I'm not some of those things even with her ( sad and pathetic mostly).
Anyway, we are cruising along pretty normally - 4 weeks until Yellowstone!

Hot August Nights

It's August already! Chance is at New Life Ranch for a week, and having a great time. We get to spend a week with just mom, dad, and Reagan. She likes the attention I think. I bought a motorcycle since our last blog. I've wanted another one since the day I sold the old '91 Shadow. My new bike is awesome, we're going to have a great time riding it, and I'm going to save on gas. I've already started riding it to work, and we can see a difference in our fuel bills.
Work is still busy, but thats better than the alternative I guess.
^ WEEKS UNTIL WE GO TO YELLOWSTONE!
