My kids
Hello to all from Edmond,OK ! It is funny sometimes you just get going with the everyday things in life...and you just get in this zone. time is passing and your not even conscience of it. Yesterday evening I went to play basketball with some friends at a neighborhood park, and took Chance and Reagan with me. While I was playing, I would periodically look around and see what they were up to. Reagan had already met 2 kids roughly her age and had began playing with them. She has such a great personality, so outgoing and sharing. We took their bicycles with us in the back of the truck, and it was not long before she was sharing her bike with the other two kids, taking turns. I was so proud of her.Meanwhile I look around and find Chance just sitting under a tree reading. When his sister needed help getting her bike out of the truck, he just got up and went and helped her without complaint or grumbling. Then went back to his tree and his book. He is more mature than me ! I am very blessed to have such an awesome son. I tell him this all the time, "You are destined for greatness". I believe that, he is going to do great things! When we were done playing basketball one of the guys at the park asked me how old my kids were. I told him 11 and 8, and he was blown away at their maturity and attitude (he had been yelling across the park to get his 12 year old to come to the car, while I just said "Chance and Reagan, lets go....and they said yessir and got in the truck). Talk about a proud poppa!
I am truly blessed to have such great kids. I am thankful that early on in parenthood we got wise council and Godly teaching on how to train them. I am thankful for an awesome wife, who is 100X more consistant in that training than I am. I'll be the first to admit, I am lucky. I get to be the guy that comes home from work, and does all the fun stuff with the kids.
Time is flying by....but they are still kids. After we left the park we stopped and got some ice cream as a kind of "atta boy" for what I observed from them. It wasn't five minutes before Reagan was covered with melting ice cream. So, there are still funny "kid" moments to be cherished as well.
